DrumAnalyzer

Overview

I am a drummer and a developer, and transcribing a drum part by ear is an evening of work. DrumAnalyzer answers a simple question: can AI build a playable drum score from an MP3? It turned out the best open model was licensed for non-commercial use only, so I trained my own: a network that separates the drums from the mix, finds every hit and lays the part out bar by bar. The web app gives you a score or a step grid, a cursor that follows the original recording, bar looping, a metronome locked to the song's own tempo, and simplification levels from a bare pulse to the part as recorded. Results export to MIDI and MusicXML. Repeat uploads are cached by file hash and answer instantly.

Who it is for

  • DrummersLearn a song from the actual record instead of guessing by ear.
  • TeachersHand students a readable, simplified part for any track.

What it does

06
01Automatic Transcription
A neural network isolates the drums, detects every hit and writes the part in standard drum notation.
02Play Along
A cursor runs through the score in time with the original song; loop any bars and slow things down.
03Practice Levels
Simplify the part from a bare pulse to the full recorded groove and grow into it step by step.
04Own Trained Model
Trained on real music rather than synthetic drums after synthetic datasets failed to generalize; benchmarked against the open reference.
05Export
Download the result as MIDI or MusicXML for your notation software or DAW.
06Fast Repeats
Results are cached by file hash: a song already processed answers in about 100 ms.

Progress
